Aluva

Aluva, situated on the confluence of the famous river Periyar, is a tourist centre due to the proximity of Kalady, the birthplace of Shree Adi Shankara, The Cheraman Mosque at Kodungallore and Malayatoor, the well known Christian International Pilgrimage Centre. The famous Aluva Shivaratri Festival is conducted at the delta of the confluence every year.
